the glass is half full
this is not a matter of opinion
it's a matter of
perspective
the glass
and much like the glass your life
is always more or less empty or more or less full
sometimes it's empty to the final few drops and sometimes it's full to the brim so it
overflows
but
think of it as half full
and if you don't like to think of it as half full
then don't think of it as a glass
think of it as a stream
after torrential rain it rises to riverlike levels and in a drought you'd barely know that it's there
but it is always there
if you think of it as a stream
that is always there whether it overwhelms you or whether it's dried up to seemingly nothing
then you can know the scope and the width and the breadth and the depth of your life
and you realise that how you experience it depends on how you look at it
and how you look at it is clearly a matter of perspective
and perspective is mostly a case of
defining your horizon
